Bhusawal – Special freight and parcel trains have been launched by Central Railway to supply essential commodities on the backdrop of Corona. According to the railway administration, 9,755 tonnes of essential items were sent by parcel trains to various places to reach here.
By June 5, 9,755 tonnes of essential commodities have been sent by parcel trains from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus to Mumbai, Kalyan, Nagpur, Bhusawal, Solapur, Pune and Nashik to Nagpur, Secunderabad, Chennai and Shalimar. Parcel trains will run until June 30 Due to the extension of the lockdown period and considering the current need, it has been decided to run parcel trains for Shalimar till June 30. During the lockdown period, the Central Railway transported 3,336 tonnes of food and perishables and 5,080 tonnes of hard parcels to maintain the supply chain. During the lockdown period, Central Railway has transported 1,152 tonnes of medicines / pharma products.
