State Information Commission, Haryana imposed a total fine of Rs 75000 on the officers of Technical Education Department in connection with information related to Guru Jambheshwar University, Hisar

Jagadhri resident S. Garg came to know that Sangeeta Mittal, who is posted as an Assistant Professor in the Haryana School of Business at Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology, Hisar, got her job by telling lie and submitting fake documents, so a Complaint was filed by S. Garg before the University Vice Chancellor Tankeshwar Kumar Sachdeva, who instead of taking an action in the matter tried to implicate the Complainant and her family members in false cases in connivance with the accused, on which the case reached to the Technical Education Department, Haryana and when Dr. S. Garg sought information about this matter, the Deputy Director Rajinder Chaudhary, Deemed S.P.I.O. and Additional Director Y.P.S. Berwal, First Appellate Authority (R.T.I.) did not ensure the supply of requisite information and the matter reached the State Information Commission, Haryana, where Deputy Director Rajinder Chaudhary and other respondents did not appear before the Commission on a date to avoid the hearing of the case, on which the State Information Commission issued warrants against them to ensure their presence and asked their explanation for not giving information, in which the Deputy Director Rajinder Chaudhary, Deputy Director Aruna Goel, Joint Director K. P. Singh tendered their unconditional apology to the State Information Commission. After the completion of the hearing, the Honorable Information Commissioner, Sh. Bhupinder Kumar Dharmani, imposed a total fine of Rs. 75000 upon the then Joint Director P. K. Malhotra and Deputy Director Rajinder Chaudhary. The Commission further ordered to the Additional Chief Secretary, Technical Education Department to take cognizance of the matter and send the Public Information Officer and First Appellate Authority of his department on training to learn about the Right to Information Act and also to issue instructions to the Nodal Officer of the Department for compliance of the various directions issued by the Government for implementation of the RTI Act.
